Turbomeca: A loyal of the resort!
On Saturday, March 23, 2024, the resort hosted a long-planned private event: the full privatization
of the ski area by the Social and Economic Committee of the Safran HE group (Bordes, 64)!
Following a successful first edition in 2022, during which the resort opened exclusively for
850 guests from the group, Gavarnie-Gèdre and Safran decided to repeat the experience at the end of
season, on a larger scale!
- A day full of activities:
In addition to skiing down the slopes, guests were treated to a full day of exciting activities specially coordinated by the resort for the occasion: dog sledding and sleigh rides, laser rifle shooting, sledding and snow tubing, inflatable castle, a live concert by the local Pyrenean band Feu d'Camp, snow groomer rides, and more!
- A second edition that opens nex horizons for the years ahead:

On Saturday, March 23, under ideal wheather and snow conditions, the resort was able to host nearly 1,150 guests - employeens and their families - for an unforgettable day in this snowy paradise, despite a somewhat mixed season overall.
"After a first experience in 2022 for the 60th anniversary of the ASCT's, the commitment and availability of the Gavarnie-Gèdre staff was exemplary. The overwhelming enthusiasm of our employees led me to try again - this time with over 1;150 people. It was truly exceptional day, in terms of the weather, the attentiveness of the stadd, and the quality of the snow", says Sébastien Labiste, Vice-President of the Turbomeca Sports and Cultural Association (ASCT).
- A well-orchestrated event - a true challenge taken up by the resort!
The catering staff had been preparing for weeks to provide a giant buffet for all, and marquee tent was set up especially for the occasion. The mobilization of all resort services ensured a smooth flow throughout the day - made possible also thanks to the volunteers from the ASCT and Safran's CSE.
For the Gavarnie-Gèdre resort, coordinating an event of this scale was nothing short of a feat - and a leap into the unknown! It's in these moments that the strength and expertise of the teams truly shine, and the bonds between the resort and the Safran group grow even stronger.
By the end of the day, the 18 buses departed back toward the Béarn region. All the ingredients were in place for the guests to enjoy a trlu unforgettable day!
