Five years ago, France's ski areas (DSF) and ski lift operators adopted an environmental roadmap aimed at achieving the ecological transition of mountain regions.
"Today, nature is calling us to account!" - DSF
At is own level, the resort quickly implemented a range of actions:
1. Climate et energy:
- Eco-Watt : for responsible use of ski lift. When no customers are in the line, the system stops until the next skiers arrive.
- Carbon footprint assessment carried out annually since 2023.
2. Water and agriculture:
- Water reserve made available to firefighters when needed. In the event of drought, the resort is committed to supporting local livestock farmers.
3. Biodiversity:
- The cables of the Saint-André ski lift are protected to prevent any obstacles to bird flight.
- As the resort is partly located within the Pyrenees National Park, an ecological inventory is updated annually.
4. Landscapes:
- Dismantling project for unused installations still ongoing (see "The resort looking to the future")
- Revegetation after construction work.
- Use of native seeds.
5. Waste:
- Natural waster collection around the ski lifts and offices (summer and winter).
- Recycling bins in the parking throughout the years.
